This new XD-E500 DVD player is with new eXtended Detail Enhancement (XDE) technology that super resolution upconverting technique ..Also it is compared with the (during the demonstration ) unnamed $70 upscaler ,to its credit, Tosh did not try to compare its new player with an HD-capable Blu-ray product ..Price is more but its according to the quality of product..
