Nokia Giving A Countdown To ‘Everyone Connect

No clues as to what this is but the Twitterverse has an inkling that we’ll see Ovi Maps integrated with Nokia Messaging. Jury’s still out on hardware like, say, the N8-00 — though as the rumored flagship S^3 device we’d prefer its reveal to be a bit more formal instead of a countdown. Read the rest of this entry »

Consternation Caused by Square Motorola Android Slider

We have definitely seen a Motorola phone that looks like this odd square thing before, but it’s also possible we’re out of brains. Either way, it looks like Moto’s working on a new Blur set running Android 2.1, and if you thought screen size and resolution issues differences were a big part of  Android fragmentation before, well, you ain’t seen nothing yet. And as for the story that this image came from a student who borrowed the phone from his dad works for Moto? We’d be more skeptical, except that’s exactly how we’ve gotten other dead-on Moto leaks. So… Anyway, a square Moto slider running Blur. Does that make any difference for anybody? No?Doesn’t Matter!

Screenshot of New Model Numbers Offers Hope MacBook Pro Updates

Giving up all expectation for a MacBook Pro refresh seems silly! As, isn’t a spec bump for Apple’s flagship laptops a total inevitability? Though, the arduous wait has begun shake our faith, and we’re happy to see even this sliver of evidence to snap us from our stupor. An internal Microcenter system is listing four new laptops with new part numbers, which, if legitimate, almost definitely harbor new Core i5 and Core i7 processors (maybe even those NVIDIA Optimus graphics if we’re lucky). According to the Microcenter employee who sent this out, a similar thing happened in November with a correct model number and price for the new MacBook. Mac Rumors claims to have been able to receive independent confirmation on the numbers, so we might really have something here. Now, as for a specific launch date, the best we have so far is that April 13th rumor, but with a tips box buzzing with rumors, we believe that we have a new MacBook Pro this century.

iPhone OS 4 Numerous New iChat Clues Found

It is difficult to understand why Apple wouldn’t have mentioned iChat at its “tentpole”-filled keynote if it was all ready to go on it, but the eternal optimists within us would like to believe that the merest glimpse of the app would instantly reveal a front facing camera on whatever new iPhone hardware is in the works, therefore relegating the app to secrecy. Still, the evidence does indeed seem to be mounting for the software’s inclusion in the OS. Outside of the iChatAgent process that was spotted last week, 9 to 5 Mac has pulled the covers off references within the SDK to moderators, chat rooms, encrypted video conferences, and more. They even uncovered the same notification noises that the desktop iChat application uses. Sure, this could all be one big misunderstanding, but hopefully these tit bits actually do point to a long-overdue, well-integrated IM experience. Read the rest of this entry »

Intoduction of EeeBox ASUS

If you’re hunting for a nettop without all the fussy ability to play high definition content, hunt no further, ASUS’s upcoming EeeBox EB1007 might be your ticket to standard-definition minimalism. According to Netbooked, the vanilla desktop was said at CeBIT to be HD-capable, but what we’re seeing on the company’s site doesn’t appear to be, packing the new Intel Atom D410 processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory, 160GB of storage, three USB 2.0 ports, all topped off with 802.11b/g/n WiFi. No information on when it’ll be available or how much it will cost when it does, but it should certainly slot in under the $387 EB1012.

Palm is Up For Sale Bloomberg

Bloomberg just reported that Palm has put itself up for sale and that offers will potentially come in this week. That’s quite wild news, considering CEO Jon Rubinstein was adamant just a few days ago that Palm had a plan to get profitable — even while his company’s stock price went on a buyout-rumor fueled rollercoaster. Bloomberg says that Palm’s already retained Goldman Sachs and Qatalyst Partners to find a buyer, with HTC and Lenovo both expressing interest — and Dell’s apparently already taken a pass. Obviously none of these parties are saying anything on the record — we just pinged Palm and they declined comment — but if this is true, things are about to get wild, and fast. We’ll keep you updated with every little news of it, stay linked.

Form Factor indecisive ASUS Eee PC T101MT

Still hunting for alternatives to the iPad?? ASUS’ 10-inch Eee PC T101MT is definitely for those that can’t make the call on netbook vs. tablet, and like clockwork the Atom N450-powered netvertible is creeping up on stateside order pages in search of $500 of your hard earned cash. Sadly, for that price you’ll only be getting single touch input since its Windows 7 Starter OS lacks multitouch support, but our guess is that slightly more expensive SKUs with Win 7 Premium will start popping up soon. We’d certainly urge you to wait on our full review, but if you’re keen enough to put your fingers all over that capacitive screen and chiclet keyboard, then get ready to bore holes into your pockets n get those links.

Microsoft Pink Deing Announced on Monday SanDisk

When you got a goods news on hold it gets difficult to keep it confidential till the release. This is what happened to Microsoft when one of its truted partners revealed the news of the company’s big announce for Monday. SanDisk used the occasion — the unannounced occasion, that is — to let some members of the press know today that Microsoft’s Pink devices will be compatible with its line of microSD cards. That seems like a pretty lame way to ride on the coattails of a big hardware launch, but then again, when your most exciting products are nondescript pieces of plastic half the size of a postage stamp, how else are you going to make the news?

‘Turtle’ Microsoft Pink Device

Well we dont have much of information on this and we’d like to make sincere apologies on behalf of the person uploading the choice of music and transitions– but it looks like someone has managed to bag a shot of a Pink device attached up to a lappie in a coffee shop. We don’t have much to go on other than this single shot, sadly — so unless we get some more juicy leakage ahead of Monday, we’ll need to wait it out through the weekend to figure out what this is all about. From what we’ve seen leaked in the past, we’re figuring this is the smaller model known as “Turtle” internally with a portrait QWERTY slide; it’s a funny-looking little beast, isn’t it?
